Tiraspol, February, 8. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Students of the Physical and Mathematical Faculty of the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University implement the social project «Movement Up». So, students hold open classes in robotics for pupils of the 5th form of the Tiraspol Theoretical Lyceum No. 2.
Fifth-graders were told about robotics, showed the operation of robots made by students of School of Robotics at the SPSU. Also, Lyceum students together with teachers programmed robots so that they performed simple tasks: moved forward and back, showed images and reproduced sounds.
Representatives of the SPSU plan to hold such classes at other schools of Tiraspol and Bendery in the nearest future.
Let's remind, on the basis of the SPSU the School of Robotics works for the second year. Now there are 150 listeners from 8 to 14 years.
«Students are actively engaged in robotics. We train to design, project, but more emphasis is on programming. Upon graduation the pupils will have to take final examination – to create the robot, to write the program and to show that he is able to», - the Deputy Dean of the Physical and Mathematical Faculty of the SPSU on Educational Work Nina Kostyukevich told in an interview to our correspondent.
