STATE STATISTICS REPORTED INCOME GROWTH FROM THE INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS IMPLEMENTATION

The industrial production volume at current prices increased by 36.4 per cent

Tiraspol, February, 5. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. According to the results of 2018, industrial output amounted to 13,042.1 million rubles, having increased by 36.4 per cent in current prices, and by 8.5 per cent in comparable prices in relation to the figure of 2017. Revenue from the sale of industrial products increased by 31.2 per cent to 13,008.0 million rubles.

According to the State Statistics Service, the positive dynamics was observed in almost all industries. Last year, our industrial giants - Moldovan HPS and MMP - worked dynamically.

So, despite the Ukraine sanctions measures, as well as negative global processes in the ferrous metallurgy market, Moldavian Metallurgical Plant increased production by 58.3 per cent to 4,632.3 million rubles at current prices, and by 10.0 per cent in real terms.

Electric power industry added 8.7 per cent to the level of 2017.

In 2018, foreign trade turnover increased significantly. Exports increased by 30.3 per cent, imports - by 23.6 per cent.

As the Ministry of Economic Development told our correspondent, the positive dynamics in the main macroeconomic indicator has been maintained for the second year.

“In 2017, we had positive results. And by the end of 2018, we can say with certainty that this trend has continued. The indicators have improved in many positions” - Deputy Minister of Economic Development Maria Glushkova stated.

The Deputy Minister stressed that that result would not have been possible without active work on the interaction of business and the state, reduction of administrative barriers, modernization of investment legislation.

“Measures were taken to reduce the tax burden for enterprises of the real sector. There were also measures taken in the monetary sphere. The devaluation allowed us to support our export-oriented enterprises, which had suffered serious losses before. A set of activities was carried out in terms of establishing interaction, a constructive dialogue between business and government, in terms of resolving issues of the permitting system, providing public services, and removing unnecessary administrative barriers, which had a positive impact on improving the business climate in the country” - Glushkova said.

The ministry hopes that positive dynamics will continue this year. True, it will depend on many factors, primarily the external ones.
