Dubossary district, January, 28. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On the birthday of the famous Moldavian writer and journalist Ion Canna in the village Goyany opening of a commemorative plaque took place. It is established on the schoolhouse in which the museum devoted Ion Canna is located the Press Service of the Dubossary State Administration reports.
"This is the significant event not only for Goyany but also for all our city, the district and the republic. Ion Canna left a rich heritage, he published a large number of books, made the contribution to the development of the Moldavian literature. On his works, not one generation of children grew up. We are proud of our legendary fellow countryman, have to keep and give the memory of him to descendants", - the Deputy Head of the State Administration on Social Problems Natalia Kravets noted.
The nephew of the famous writer Alexander Morev also took part in the ceremony. He shared reminiscence about the uncle.
"I was a little boy then, but I remember how Ion Canna often came to visit us, the uncle. He always very attentively asked about life. He had a car Pobeda and if he met someone from the village on the road, he always drives them. It says about his character very eloquently. And if we came to them on a visit, always at first he feeds us, and only after that there were already talks. I am very glad that the memory of Jon Canna is alive", - the writer's nephew told.
Alexander More emphasized that only in Goyany there is a museum where the exhibits telling about life and Ion Cann's creativity are stored.
Also the editor-in-chief of the Adeverul Nistryan newspaper Sergey Sandu, the member of the Writers' Union of Pridnestrovie Vladimir Yashtylov, the Head of Administration of Goyany Sergey Malay made a speech at the ceremony.
After the opening ceremony of a commemorative plaque for all attendees conducted a tour on the school museum.
Let's remind, this summer the daughter Ion Canna together with the son visited the village where the writer was born, and school where the museum about his life and creativity is created. During the visit they filled up a fund of the museum and expressed interest in making the contribution to perpetuating of the memory of Ion Cann, having footed the bill on the production of a commemorative plaque.
