History
So it happened that on the St. Tatiana Day celebrated on January 25 in 1755 Empress Elizabeth signed the decree «About Establishment of the Moscow University», and this date became the official Student's day. In those days it was called Day of Foundation of the Moscow University. Since then Saint Tatiana is considered the patroness of students.
At first, the holiday was celebrated only in Moscow. It consisted of two parts: a short official ceremony in the building of the university, an orthodox church service and noisy public festivity in which almost all capital took part.
Festival in the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University
Nowadays in the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University adhere to this tradition: at first official part, then mass festivities.
This year the celebration of the St. Tatiana Day will begin at 9:00 with church service on the place of laying of the future Church of St. Sofia (Building No. 3, near the stone).
At 9:30 the meeting of students with priests of the Tiraspol and Dubossary diocese (Building No. 1, the assembly hall) will take place.
Also this day the First Lady of the state will meet students. Svetlana Krasnoselsky will communicate to the clubmen of «Vis-a-vis» on family values. The beginning – at 11:00, Building No. 1, a conference room.
The most interesting part will begin at 13:00. The SPSU Cultural and Educational Center will hold an entertainment program, creative competitions and also traditional tasting of power cocktail «Gagarinsky Drink».
SPSU Bendery branch
All the festive actions will be united in a uniform concert which will begin at 13:00. Students will see the best shows of the KVN («Club of the Funny and Inventive People») commands, performances of on-stage groups of Tkachenko Cultural Center.
During the day in Building A, there will be the lottery and also a competition of wall newspapers of first-year students.
SPSU Rybnitsa branch
Also, Rybnitsa students will not forget about St. Tatyana Day. They will begin the celebrations at 10:00. At this time a big concert draws and also tasting of the «Gagarinsky drink» will be.
Festive events will be held not only in higher educational institutions but also in colleges and technical schools.
The Bendery bonuses for students

In the same day, the Espresso Room and Passage Coffee Shops will offer a 50% discount for a coffee drink for students and all Tatiana. The students named Tatiana will be able to taste the same coffee drink absolutely free of charge.
