Tiraspol, January, 22. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The President commented on the opening of the Official Representation of the PMR in Moscow and noted that need for it ripened long ago.
«Proceeding from the results of a Referendum of 2006 on which the Pridnestrovian people unambiguously supported the independence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic with further accession to the Russian Federation we planned a number of the strategic directions of interaction between Pridnestrovie and Russia. Let's brief them.
The first direction is the military. This is the interaction in the field of peacemaking. Russia carries out an effective peacekeeping mission on the coast of the Dniester, and in 26 years of its carrying out no peacekeeper die at clash. It is an important indicator. The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, all the people and the management highly appreciate peacemaking of Russia, thank the Russian Federation.
The second direction is a political interaction. Russian Federation has always played the most important role in the Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement. It is a guarantor of the negotiation process of the 5+2 format.
The third direction is cultural, humanitarian, educational. All our educational standards conform to standards of the Russian Federation. This cooperation is one of the major in terms of the development of civil society.
The fourth is an economic interaction. For us, Russia is the strategic partner in the economy. Though export to the Russian Federation decreased a little, nevertheless we have prospects of its development. For 2017-2018 we fix export growth to the Russian Federation for 18-25% by two years in general.
The fifth direction of interaction is information. Here it should be noted that information on Pridnestrovie in the Russian Federation is not enough. While Pridnestrovie knows everything about Russia or almost everything. Unfortunately, there is not enough information in Russia on what Pridnestrovie lives, what problems we have, what achievements, what experiences. This representation will play a very important role in information break. It is very important to understand also the nobility.
The Representation of Pridnestrovie will be the good contact centre with our friends – South Ossetia, Abkhazia, the Karabakh republic. We have old historical links both in the field of parliamentarism and in the area of an executive. Many contractual obligations are signed. We recognized each other. We are always glad to see you and we hope for the development of good contacts.
The opening of the Representation is one of the points of the Pridnestrovian Development Strategy. We defined the way of development on the near-term outlook – for the next 8 years. The most important is we defined our state idea in the Strategy. We cannot call it national because we have a multinational state.
At the state idea of the PMR, there are three components. The first is strengthening of the independence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic with the subsequent recognition of our statehood and realization of results of the Referendum of 2006 on which the people supported the independence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and association with Russia. The second point is further strengthening of «the Pridnestrovian people» community.
The third aspect is the creation of the social state with a market economy. The market works, and we spend earned on people, for social needs. We work for the benefit of the Pridnestrovian people. Red thread this state idea is penetrated by the Pridnestrovian history, not only the last 28 years of the republic existence but the centuries-old history of Russia and Pridnestrovie.
I will remind that in 1792 Tiraspol was founded by the Generalissimo Suvorov, the decree was signed by Empress Catherine II. Probably, from this point, Russia surely staked out the place in Malorossiya, in the territory of modern Pridnestrovie. And the peacekeeping mission which exists in Pridnestrovie more than a quarter of the century continues a feat of great-grandfathers, grandfathers and fathers – those who established and defended the peace on the coast of the Dniester during different historical eras.
The Russian peacekeeping mission originates in 1792 when infantrymen of Suvorov companies came on this earth and founded Tiraspol. Later, in 1806, the commander of the Russian imperial army General Meendorf seized the Bendery fortress; in 1812 the Treaty of Bucharest was signed. All these centuries Bendery were the rear base of the Russian Imperial Army and 5 thousand Russian soldiers are buried in the territory of the city - it is generals, officers and soldiers of the Russian Imperial Army.
Through Bendery, there passed many famous people which left a bright mark in the history not only our edge but also all Russia. The important historical point when the Soviet soldier exempted our territory from fascist plague – in 1944 as a result of Jassy–Kishinev Offensive. And, of course, 1992 when the new stage of peacemaking of today's Russian soldier began.
We try to show it in practice not only in Pridnestrovie but also to the whole world. In Bendery in the territory of the Aleksandro-Nevsky Park at the end of the last year, there was opened the exhibition hall in which the peacemaking of Russia is presented in bronze figures of soldiers, beginning from the soldier musketeer of 1792 till today.
Our Representation will be headed by the Major General in resignation Manakov Leonid Afanasyevich – the honoured person, the citizen of Pridnestrovie who worked in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, was the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the PMR. He knows our problems, both internal, and external, knows where Pridnestrovie aspires. I heartily want to congratulate Leonid Afanasyevich on this good undertaking, important appointment.
