Tiraspol, December, 27. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, at the meeting of the Government Presidium there was presented a draft decree on the concept approval of sports development and popularization in the republic for 2019-2026.
The deputy head of the State Service for Sports, Nelly Telyatinskaya, who presented the document, noted that the implementation of the concept would make physical education and sports more accessible for the widest segments of the population, including socially unprotected categories of citizens, and also allow them to bring professional masters` achievements to a new level.
“Following other countries` example, I can say that such concepts are often underestimated. This is a very big mistake. The development of the state as a whole depends on how healthy the population is. This document had been being developed for a long time. Just as with the development strategy of our state, here it is one thing to approve a document, and another one is to effectively implement it” - Chairman of the Government Alexander Martynov said.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to develop a program to promote a healthy lifestyle.
“Here it is necessary to see how this is promoted in other countries, to study their experience. I believe that it is important for the state to convey information about the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle to the young people, to those who have just started to live, so that they understand the consequences of physical inactivity, alcohol consumption, smoking and unhealthy diet” - the Chairman of the Government believes.
Alexander Martynov instructed Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Turcan to further prepare a policy document on healthy lifestyle promotion in Pridnestrovie.
“Together we will think about how in 2019 we can start promoting this concept in schools, technical schools, universities, and consult with public figures. This is a mutually beneficial move forward both of the state and the population as a whole” - the head of the executive branch of government concluded.
The members of Presidium supported the concept of the project on sports unanimously.
