PMR PRESIDENT: 2018 WAS DIFFICULT, BUT SUCCESSFUL

Vadim Krasnoselski took part in the final plenary meeting of the Supreme Council autumn session

Tiraspol, December, 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today in Tiraspol there was held the final plenary meeting of the PMR Supreme Council autumn session. Participation in its work was taken by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselski. The press service of the President reports that the head of state summed up the outgoing year results, and called the 2018th difficult but successful.

The head of state paid special attention to the course and results of the negotiation process. Vadim Krasnoselski noted that if last year was completed by the conclusion of a number of significant agreements with the Moldovan side, then this year was marked by their practical implementation.

The negotiation agenda included issues related to the opening of a bridge across the Dniester in Bychok and Gura-Bikului settlements, land use in Dubossary district, functioning schools with teaching based on Latin graphics, apostilization of diplomas issued by the Pridnestrovian State University, neutral license plates introduction, telecommunications and economy.

The President of Pridnestrovie stressed, that all decisions made are significant for the citizens of the republic and are aimed at creating more comfortable living conditions for Pridnestrovians. He reminded that serious work had been done to achieve those results. During the year, three Pridnestrovian-Moldavian summits were held, political representatives gathered at the negotiating table 29 times, 84 meetings of working (expert) groups were held.

The PMR President commented in more detail on yesterday's meeting with the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, stressing that, as before, the topics of the political direction were not raised. Economic aspects and issues of a humanitarian character were discussed. The agenda proposed by the Pridnestrovian side includes telecommunications, politically motivated criminal cases and the Moldovan law on the status of Pridnestrovie (2005).

Vadim Krasnoselski said that he gave Moldovan colleagues a copy of the development strategy of the Pridnestrovian Moldova Republic for 2019-2026. The President considers its development as an important outcome of the year, the achievement of which would have been impossible without the consolidation of Pridnestrovian society and all branches of Government.

Another important document that the head of state mentioned was the law on investments, adopted in 2018. Calling it progressive, Vadim Krasnoselski noted that the development and implementation of new legislation in this area is intended to restore the confidence of potential investors. We can already speak about the results: the number of entrepreneurs who have announced their intention to invest in Pridnestrovian economy and have already taken practical steps in this direction is growing.

The number of jobs has also been increased: in two years their number in the real sector of the economy increased by 5,200 positions.

Among the innovations that are worth speaking of as achieving a breakthrough character is the capital investment program. Launched in 2018, it has already allowed the construction and repair of a hundred and fifty objects of social infrastructure. Vadim Krasnoselski noted that work in this direction will be continued in the following years.

If in 2018 attention was focused on the field of education, then in 2019 the main focus will be on health care.

“The capital investment fund is a state development fund. It is necessary to allocate funds for the development of the country no matter how difficult” - Vadim Krasnoselski is sure.

The President expressed his gratitude to the deputies for their active work, fruitful cooperation with various government bodies and the public.
