Tiraspol, December, 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In Tiraspol, Pridnestrovian winners of the children's international painting competition “Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Pridnestrovie: friendship, bonded by time” were honored. The competition was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia (August 8, 2008), the recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by the Russian Federation (August 26, 2008) and the 25th anniversary of the victory of Abkhazia people in the 1992-1993 war (September 30, 1993 of the year).
Tiraspol media center reminds that the competition was launched on May 14. The event was organized by the representative offices of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Pridnestrovie.
In their creative works, children had an opportunity to tell about the importance of friendship between fraternal peoples, about how invaluable mutual support is in the struggle for freedom and recognition, and also to show how interesting and rich the history, culture and traditions of Pridnestrovians, Ossetians and Abkhazians is.
Alexander Vataman, Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia in PMR, and Vitaly Yankovsky, head of the official representative office of the Republic of South Ossetia in PMR, thanked the contestants and their parents for their participation and wished them a happy New Year.
“The ability to be friends is one of the most valuable qualities. The fact that you understand the value of friendship from childhood, and depicted it between our fraternal peoples is very important” - Maria Pashchenko, deputy head of Tiraspol state administration for social development said.
20 children received sweet prizes and 2019 calendars for their efforts. On the calendars` pages their works are posted.
