"CHANGING OF PEACEKEEPING FORMAT IS A PATH TO WAR"

Vadim Krasnoselski told reporters about the state of relations between Pridnestrovie and Russian Federation

Tiraspol, December, 18. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie and Russia speak to each other often and openly. In this, the interaction takes place both at the institutional and at the civil level. The interests of Pridnestrovians at their level are being upheld and promoted by deputies of the Supreme Council, the leadership of the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, public organizations and the President. As the head of state Vadim Krasnoselski stressed during the final press conference, the most valuable assistance from the Russian Federation for our republic is the support of compatriots.

“Everyone are aware that there are citizens of Russia, compatriots, live in Pridnestrovie, and that we need help, but not only financial. We should be self-sufficient. We need functional help in terms of bringing our peoples closer together: Pridnestrovian people and the people of the Russian Federation” - the President pointed out.

Answering the question of how relations between Pridnestrovie and Russian Federation are developing today, the head of state noted that the interaction takes place in several directions, highlighting the political and military-political blocs, cultural and humanitarian, as well as economic cooperation.

Speaking about the military-political interaction, the President particularly focused on the uniqueness and effectiveness of the current peacekeeping format.

“We are strongly attached to peacemaking on the Dniester banks, and no one should have even a thought about changing the format to another. This is all the path to the war. Russia's peacekeepers have proven their worth, that they can ensure peace in our land. This is our history” - Vadim Krasnoselski said.

In general, programs are being developed for each area of cooperation, which are separately discussed with senior officials of the Russian Federation. Now some of them have been referred to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak for familiarization.

“There is an interaction. We will improve something, introduce something new. 2019 will show everything” - the President of Pridnestrovie concluded.
