Bendery, November, 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The organizers calculated that during the National Unity Day, about 10 thousand people visited Bendery fortress. Recently, this place has been the center of attraction not only for the people of Bendery and Pridnestrovians from other cities, but also for foreign tourists. Compared to last year, their number has increased significantly. Most frequently they come to our republic from Germany, Italy, Israel, America and Turkey.
“The number of tourist groups from the countries of near abroad and distant foreign countries has increased. More precisely, travel agents who provide services such as visiting Bendery Fortress, book tours in advance and come here in organized groups. When compared to the last year, the number of visits of foreign tourists increased by about 20 per cent” – Alexander Yaskov, Bendery fortress director, told.
Every weekend the fortress is crowded, the First Pridnestrovian Channel reports. It became more accessible for visitors: the central Tsargradskie gates were opened, there appeared parking.
We shall note, that a record number of visitors to the Bendery fortress was on the day of the opening of the Alexander Nevsky Park. There were almost 45 thousand of them.
It has become not only more interesting to go on holidays in Pridnestrovie, but also more convenient. An important part is played by the simplified mechanism of customs control, which has been earned since November 2017. Now, in order to cross the Pridnestrovian border, it is enough for a foreigner to have an identity card.
“The core group of tourists comes to us on buses. Therefore, checkpoints personnel make every effort to arrange this group, so as not to keep it at the border. The leaders of these groups express their sincere gratitude to our staff for helping with paperwork and speeding up the process” – Alaxander Danich, Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Citizens of the Department of Migration of the PMR Internal Affairs Ministry, noted.
Taking into account the automated system of issuing migration cards, crossing the border becomes a matter of minutes. So there are no obstacles for tourism in Pridnestrovie.
