Indian NPP will purchase Electromash electric motors

The plant has successfully passed through an audit and won a tender for the supply of equipment

Tiraspol, 15 August. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Electric motors produced by Electromash successfully passed an audit for further use at the nuclear power plants Kudankulam (India) and Ruppur (Bangladesh).

Equipment of the Pridnestrovian enterprise was evaluated by the commission of Ukraine's plant "Nasosenergomash". The specialists were shown the functioning of structural subdivisions and production processes of Electromash.

The commission noted the availability of qualified personnel, a sufficient design base and appropriate production culture. In addition, the specialists of the Ukrainian plant assessed the availability of a certified test laboratory, the purchase of new test stands to check the bearings and rotor balancing equipment.

According to the director of the special design bureau of the Electromash plant, Maxim Medushevsky, the enterprise has already won a tender for the supply of these electric motors to the Indian nuclear power plant Kudankulam.

"For us, it is both prestigious and profitable. These electric motors are difficult to produce so they have a sufficiently high purchase price," said Maxim Medushevsky.

The nuclear power plant Ruppur in Bangladesh is still under construction. Electromash also plans to participate in a tender for the supply of electric motors.

"Now we are working with some nuclear power plants. For example, the Rostov NPP has confirmed the supply of these motors," added Medushevsky.
