Tiraspol, 30 July. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Feodosiya hosted the second stage of the "Gift of a Selfless Soul" campaign. It was timed to the Day of Feodosiya, where the modern traditions of philanthropy and charity were laid by the city's first Honorary Citizen and artist Ivan Aivazovsky.
The organizers were members of the Feodosiya local branch of the party "United Russia", the municipal culture department and Alexander Grin Central Library on the initiative of the head of the Dniester-Prut Information and Analytical Center Albert Dorzheyev.
During the event, a video conference with Pridnestrovie was organized. Albert Dorzheev talked to the Feodosiyans.
"The spiritual ties, the cultural code of our common history must be preserved. Any bridges which maintain, including with your assistance, the connection between Russia and Pridnestrovie," said Albert Dorzheyev.
In an interview with Novosti Pridnestrovya, Dorzheyev mentioned that he planned to make the action regular, which means that the library system of the PMR is given a new life.
It should be noted that Pridnestrovian libraries are replenished with new books published in Russia on the initiative of Albert Dorzheyev. His initiative was supported by the head of the local branch of the Council of Party Supporters, director of the Centralized Library System of Feodosiya Elena Stepanova and member of the local political council Svetlana Gevchuk. The action was backed by local councillors, Alexander Grin Library employees, indifferent residents of Feodosiya and Sevastopol. Books were gifted during a special ceremony. At the moment more than 700 books have already been collected and are now ready to go to Pridnestrovie.
In particular, Feodosia's poet Galina Yakovleva donated a collection of poems "The Crimean Bridge - the victory of the brave". Over a hundred books were donated by Kindergarten # 11.
"The libraries of Pridnestrovie have not been updated for more than twenty years. Children always remain children. They want to read fairy tales and funny books. Obviously, without our help, the problem can hardly be solved by itself. That's why the deputy of Feodosiya City Council Natalya Petrovna Yanshina has responded to this appeal. I am glad that I am also taking part in this," noted "United Russia" city councillor Valery Dutselovich.
Among the books are literary classics, works of contemporary authors, reference books on the Russian history and culture, interactive books for children.
According to Albert Dorzheyev, he was not able to bring children's books printed in Braille to Pridnestrovie through the territory of Ukraine as they were considered propagandistic by the Ukrainian side. Therefore, the support of Crimeans, he said, is of high value, like a reliable shoulder of a true friend.
"Before the Crimea joined the Russian Federation, our library stocks had not been updated for a decade. Therefore, my colleagues and I understand the problem of Pridnestrovian libraries, whose funds have not been replenished since 1997, very well. After all, a well-published book, even a classical one, simply jumps into your hands. We want Pridnestrvoie to have such interesting encyclopedias that can also be 'revived' by means of phones and tablets," Elena Stepanova explained.
She noted that the participation of Pridnestrovian librarians in the conference had become the "first sign" in establishing cultural ties between Pridnestrovie and the Crimea. In the future, she said, it would be possible to "build bridges" between artistic people.
The third, final, stage of the campaign is planned to be held on 23 August - the birthday of writer Alexander Grin. As Elena Stepanova noted, members of the public organization "Young Guard" and other benefactors expressed the desire to take part in the campaign.
The collected books will be further transferred to Moscow, from which they will go to Pridnestrovie. Albert Dorzheev said that on 2 September, on the anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, they will be handed over to the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage of the PMR.
