Tiraspol, 15 July. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Russian Rowing and Canoeing Championship ended today in Moscow. It was held in the Krylatskoye rowing channel. Four Pridnestrovian athletes became champions of Russia. According to the selection criteria, singles and doubles champions are invited to Russia's national team for participation in the World Championship. It will be held in Montemor-o-Vello, Portugal, from 22 to 26 August.
Canoeist Kirill Shamshurin won 3 gold medals: in the 1000 m single (C1) and 1000 m double (C2), and also in the 5 km heat. His partner was Ilya Pervukhin from Tver. Their closest competitors were Vlad Chebotar and Viktor Melantyev from Krasnodar. They came second at 1000 m, but they won at 500 m. Chebotar also won silver in the 500 m four.
Oleg Shurinkin finished second at 5 km. Vasily Pogreban bolstered the kayak two (K2) and kayak four (K4). The crews excelled at a distance of 500 m. Alexander Dyachenko won silver in the kayak four.
Alexander Dyachenko and Kirill Lyapunov (Moscow) became champions of Russia at 200 m (K2). They were followed by the crew of Pogreban and Postrigai. Two more bronze medals were won by our athletes in the single events: Dyachenko at 200 meters and Pogreban at 500 meters.
Zoya Manaeva won bronze (K2, 500 and 1000 m); Ivan Yepishin became fourth in the same events.
