Tiraspol, 12 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Russian ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin congratulated compatriots on Russia Day.
The ambassador noted that 12 June is a special date in the modern history of Russia, marking not only the proclamation of sovereignty but also the entire thousand-year history of the Russian state.
"Russia Day symbolises the unity of our multi-ethnic country and the entire Russian world. Together with the Russian Federation, it is celebrated by all who cherish the Russian land. On this significant day, each of us feels part of a great power," reads Farit Mukhametshin's congratulation.
The Russian ambassador highly appreciates the kind attitude, based on respect and solidarity, of Pridnestrovians, including more than 200,000 Russian citizens.
"Our peoples are bound by a common historical heritage, cultural and spiritual affinity. Russia responsibly fulfils the role of mediator and guarantor of the Pridnestrovian settlement, participates in a unique joint peacekeeping operation, protecting peace and tranquillity on the Dniester," said Farit Mukhametshin.
The diplomat wished his compatriots health, prosperity and all the best.
