Tiraspol, 29 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Junior European Rowing Championship was held in Gravelin, France, from 25 to 27 May. The competition was the final stage of the selection for the 3rd Youth Olympic Games, which take place in Buenos Aires in the autumn of 2018.
The trainee of the Tiraspol School of Rowing and Shooting, Ivan Korshunov, qualified for the finals in the 2,000m single scull, the website of the State Sports Agency reports. In the final race, he took fifth place but still gained the right to go to Argentina.
Korshunov is coached by Valery Barabash, Vasily Alekseev and Andrey Voropay.
The 3rd Youth Olympic Games will be held in the capital of Argentina from 6 to 18 October 2018.
