The government office hosted a meeting with the Polish delegation

Polish businessmen show interest in development of blockchain technologies in PMR

Tiraspol, 26 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The chairman of the government of the PMR, Alexander Martynov, met a delegation from Poland. It was headed by the technical director and founder of Bitelon, an adviser to the Minister of Information of Poland, Filip Pavcinski. The Pridnestrovian side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik, his deputy Nikolay Gliga, head of the Department of Property Relations of the Ministry of Economic Development Andrey Betanov, the government's press service reports.

The Polish guests were interested in the development of the blockchain technology in Pridnestrovie. A law supporting this sector of the economy was signed by the president in February 2018. It suggests the provision of favourable conditions for the allocation of capacities related to the production and generation of crypto-currencies. The state, it should be noted, has a relatively inexpensive cost of electricity, thereby attracting potential investors.

The Polish delegation will stay two days in Pridnestrovie. The prime minister asked the guests if they knew Pridnestrovie's law on the development of blockchain technologies in the PMR.

"I have studied the document. This law gives us great opportunities, especially in terms of its security and stability. We are very pleased that the government supports such initiatives," said Bitelon’s CEO.

Earlier, investors from the CIS countries, China and Europe studied the law.

In addition to the blockchain law, there is also a "capacity map". "This includes hangars, industrial facilities, to which sufficient electricity has already been supplied," Sergey Obolonik explained.

According to Filip Pavcinski, Bitelon representatives have visited a number of industrial objects. They were impressed by the size of the Moldovan GRES. They have visited other electricity exporting enterprises as well.

According to Pavcinski, upon his return to Poland, the delegation will give its partners a detailed account of the visit to our country and the opportunities he saw in the PMR.

Commenting on the visit of the Polish entrepreneurs, Sergey Obolonik stressed that the development of the blockchain industry would boost sales of Pridnestrovian energy and replenish the state coffers.

"We hope that the implementation of the projects, which our Polish colleagues have offered us, is entering the final straightaway," the deputy prime minister believes.

The Polish company showed interest in the way blockchain technologies will be developed in Pridnestrovie.

"This is part of our image projects aimed at showing investors we are quite a normal state which is able to offer serious advantages and confidence that their investments will be protected," said the minister.
