Tiraspol, 24 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Tiraspol resident Dmitry Lavrov won gold at the Russian Table Tennis Championship for athletes with musculoskeletal disorders. Lavrov played in sports class 1, First Transnistrian TV reports.
At the group stage, the Pridnestrovian was seeded first as the defending champion. He easily advanced from the group and reached the finals. He faced the most stubborn resistence in the decisive match. Last year's silver medalist Alexey Pavlov was able to beat our tennis player in the first set only. In the remaining sets, Dmitry Lavrov was more successful.
This is Lavrov's fourth gold medal at the Russian championship. Now Dmitry is training for the next competitions: in May he is going to Slovenia to participate in the first European stage of the World Cup.
