Tiraspol, 28 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Supreme Council has approved the first reading of a bill increasing payments to pensioners subject to full state maintenance in social security institutions. The extent of the increase will be further debated. The final figure will be known by the second reading after additional work on the bill is carried out by the committee on social policy, public health, labour, family and childhood.
Today people who live in neuropsychiatric asylums and old people's homes, as well as the children who have lost the breadwinner, are paid 20% of the minimum old-age pension. This is approximately 123 roubles. Meanwhile, officials report numerous citizens' appeals with a request to increase this amount.
The comparative table of the bill suggests its double increase. Meanwhile, the funds of the deficit budget are scarce. The author of the amendments to the law on "State pension provision", Galina Antyufeyeva, suggested increasing the amount of payments from 20 to 25% of the minimum old-age pension with a further increase in the case of the availability of funds.
