Tiraspol, 14 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Centre of the English Language and American Culture of Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University (SPSU) hosted a lecture by Professor Christopher Kelly from the State University of Arkansas on legal education in the United States.
The University of Arkansas is one of the top five universities in America. As Christopher Kelly told SPSU's legal department students, there are various methods of training at the university, including distance learning. The latter allows foreign students to listen to lecturers from other countries.
The professor also spoke about the opportunity to seek a master's degree through the Fulbright academic exchange program. It enables students from different countries to study in the United States, helps them to get to know American culture and a different educational system. The main goal of the program is to apply the skills obtained while studying abroad in your country, PSU's official website reports.
Pridnestrovian students wanted to know what specialists are most of all in demand in the United States. According to the lecturer, it is important that they have any communication skills and personal motivation. "It does not matter what is your major, the main thing is to have high marks and be a good person," said Christopher Kelly.
At the end of the lecture, he identified three, in his opinion, vital points on which each student should rely. First, it's conscientiousness. Having lost a reputation once, the professor said, it will be very difficult to regain it in the future. Secondly, the student must be ready for hard work. Choosing a legal profession, a person does not know what awaits him. That's why you should be ready for everything. Thirdly, you must always remain a man.
