Tiraspol, 11 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A business forum organised by NGO Business Russia in Moscow and attended by representatives of the Pridnestrovian authorities and industrial enterprises became the main event last week. Issues of agricultural cooperation, food processing and light industries were raised at the forum, the Supreme Council's press service recalls.
The forum resulted in signing a memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation between Pridnestrovie's government and Chamber of Commerce and Industry and NGO Business Russia. The forum was also attended by the Supreme Council member, CEO of Tirotex, Andrey Mezhinsky. According to him, new formats and mechanisms of mutually beneficial cooperation will be discussed during negotiations with Business Russia representatives, as well as representatives of the business community.
"We were able to purchase brand-new high-speed pneumatic textile machines by Japan's Toyota, which produce grey cloth of up to 237 m wide. It is this format that is produced by the rest of the finishing equipment; as a result, we receive a diverse assortment of finished fabric with a popular width in Russia of 220 cm. Unfortunately, because of the devaluation of the Russian rouble, Tirotex significantly decreased its exports to this market in 2014-2016. However, this year we have managed to double our supplies as compared to last year," Mezhinsky assessed the potential of Russian-Pridnestrovian relations.
He also made a number of proposals for mutually beneficial cooperation, including an increase in the supply of textile and other products from Pridnestrovie. The representatives of the Russian business community promised to consider the proposals and to give their opinion in the near future.
