Pridnestrovians win 20 medals at international competition in Kishinev

The competition was held to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Tiraspol, 4 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. An international competition involving persons with disabilities was held on 2 December in Kishinev. The event was organised by Moldova's youth and sports ministry and the public organisation of people with disabilities.

Seventy-five athletes from Pridnestrovie, Gagauzia, Moldova and Romania took part in the competition. Our country was represented by 14 athletes from Bendery's club of sports rehabilitation Invapansport.

Athletes competed in seven events: table tennis, darts, powerlifting, arm wrestling, bocce, checkers, archery. Each athlete was able to participate in several events.

As a result, the Pridnestrovians won 20 medals: both gold and silver and bronze.

"This brilliant achievement is the result of the regular exercise, diligence and purposefulness of disabled athletes," said Dmitry Kuzuk, head of the World of Equal Opportunities foundation.

According to him, the competition was held in a friendly environment.

Traditionally, this Kishinev international competition ends the year of sporting events, after which the year's work is summed up and analysed to draw conclusions based on which work will be carried out next year.
