Tiraspol, 5 Novemeber. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The series of Dialogues with the President on YouTube was continued by Vadim Krasnoselsky's interview with the TSV channel, during which various topics were discussed, the presidential press service reports. Among them were Russian-Pridnestrovian relations, the prospects of the Pridnestrovian economy, the 100the anniversary of the October Revolution and others.
Answering the journalist's question as to whether Pridnestrovie needs Russian financial assistance and where it can be allocated, the president said that the Russian Federation could provide not only financial but also political, diplomatic and legal assistance. He recalled the Russia-led peacekeeping operation that had been a guarantee of peace and stability in our region for 25 years.
He also underscored that Russian financial aid, if provided, would be aimed at reforming of the Pridnestrovian economy. "We must become a self-sufficient state with a well-developed production base. This is why the country needs Russia's support. And it's not just about allocating money but rather about loans," the president explained.
Pridnestrovie is struggling with economic difficulties today within existing resources. Economic development, according to Krasnoselsky, is a complex and systemic process. The country's leadership has launched the process this year, with some economic indicators showing the first positive results. This includes growth in industrial production and exports to Russia, as well as an increase in the number of jobs.
The government pays serious attention to improving the business climate. "The state authorities and business must become partners between whom honest relations must be established," Krasnoselsky believes.
The correct attitude to history was another theme raised during the interview. 7 November would mark the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. The president shared his vision of this historic event. "The October Revolution had an impact not only on Russia but also on the entire world. It divided history into 'before' and 'after'," said Krasnoselsky.
There were many positive aspects in the Soviet history: industrialisation, victory over fascism, the conquest of space, life in a friendly family of Soviet peoples. There were tragic events as well: bloody civil war and political repression of the 1930-40s. "The main thing about history is to avoid politicising historic events," believes Krasnoselsky.
He also touched upon the significance of National Unity Day both for Russia and Pridnestrovie as part of the Russian world. The president expressed the view that the feat of Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky would have been impossible without broad public support.
