Dodon has changed his opinion three times over the past eight months

Tiraspol, 12 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Krasnoselsky called his Moldovan counterpart an inconsistent politician. He declared this during a deliberative assembly of the first Pridnestrovian MPs.

"First, he spoke about the federation both with me and during a meeting with the Russian president. Then, Dodon spoke about an autonomy. And at a recent meeting with Vladimir Putin, he spoke about a special status for Pridnestrovie. In other words, over the past eight months the top official has changed his opinion three times. How shall we negotiate in such circumstances? What kind of special status? What is is — a reservation, barbed wire, a total blockade? If we are going to keep some contacts, then it should be enshrined in the legislation of both countries; otherwise, it's just an empty chatter," said Krasnoselsky.

The president maintained that Pridnestrovie had taken a different course to conduct a direct political dialogue to address specific issues of concern to both the citizens of Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that from the very start of the new cycle of negotiations the Pridnestrovian side had been very concrete by addressing a number of old problems. Among them were the issue of Romanian-language schools, land cultivation by Moldovan farmers in the Dubossary District. Besides, Pridnestrovie had discontinued ten criminal cases against Moldovan officials. The migration procedures had also been simplified.

However, there are still dozens of issues on the agenda that need to be addressed. They include the resumption of railway traffic, the recognition of Pridnestrovian education certificates, the opening of a motorway bridge across the Dniester in the vicinity of the villages Bychok and Gura Bicului.

"Expert groups work on all the issues, and we support the launch of the '5+2' negotiations, but the Austrian chairmanship has taken the wrong stand on this issue. Pridnestrovie has traditionally advocated the continuation of the negotiating process for the solution of economic, humanitarian and cultural issues on which the lives of ordinary people depend, but strictly based on our statehood", said the president.

He underscored there was the will of the people, and the president did not intend to discuss the status of Pridnestrovie.

Tiraspol, December 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiation process turned 30 this year. Yet this date could not be marked with any agreements. Unfortunately, the outgoing year here has become another stage of missed opportunities.
