Tiraspol, 18 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The chairman of the government and the head of the Supreme Council, Alexander Martynov and Alexander Scherba, summed up a working visit of the Pridnestrovian delegation to Moscow during a meeting with President Krasnoselsky.
Scherba called contacts with State Duma members traditional, important and necessary. According to him, interaction had been established at the level of political parties, factions, committees and commissions. Among the issues on which there is an active interparliamentary debate today are the acquisition of Russian citizenship by Pridnestrovian Russians, the possibility of using maternal capital in Pridnestrovie and the application of medical insurance, the president's press service reports.
Alexander Scherba informed the president that there had been only a few cases where Pridnestrovians were able to get medical assistance at Russian medical facilities, underscoring that the mechanism as a whole had not yet been worked out.
"The mechanism for providing medical assistance to citizens of the Russian Federation living in the PMR, and in the future to all Pridnestrovian citizens, is under consideration. A considerable amount of work needs to be done at both the legislative and executive branches of power in order to include Pridnestrovie's healthcare system into Russia's medical insurance system as part of legislative harmonisation. Following your instructions, we sent letters, including to Russia's healthcare ministry. We've received a response. There is some legislative roughness. We discussed possible solutions to these issues in State Duma committees and commissions. We outlined new stages of the implementation of the tasks before us," said Scherba.
The fact that a support group for Pridnestrovians has been established and is functioning in the State Duma confirms that contacts with Russian colleagues are practical and focus on achieving concrete results. It consists of MP representing various Duma factions. Such consolidation makes it possible to respond quickly and address many issues.
"It is very important that this group includes MPs from nearly all factions of Russia's State Duma. They all support Pridnestrovie. They have a consolidated position regarding the PMR," underscored Vadim Krasnoselsky. The president instructed the speaker to keep an eye on the issues related to obtaining Russian citizenship and use of maternal capital.
Another important aspect, according to Krasmoselsky, is the development by Russian MPs of a new mechanism for interaction between the budget systems of Pridnestrovie and Russia. Scherba told the president about the drafting of the relevant request. Its essence is that the potential support for Pridnestrovie should be taken into account when considering and adopting Russia's 2018 budget.
