Tiraspol, 25 August. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Whether Russia will resume paying pension allowances is one of the most discussed questions today. Commenting on the situation on the First Pridnestrovian TV channel, the first deputy minister of social security and labour, Oleg Fedotov, noted that the ministry was expecting the arrival of Russian humanitarian assistance.
«Upon its arrival, the payment of pension allowances will be immediately resumed," he underscored.
The pension service itself is now changing its residence, which will continue until October-November. It is quite possible that other departments of the centre will also be relocated.
«This refers to the social insurance centre, which works with pensioners. In October-November the pension service is to move to a new building in 25 October St. It is believed that by the end of the year it will work in new, convenient for our pensioners, conditions," said Fedotov.
He added that refresher courses would be organised for the employees of the social insurance centre.
The work of the Tiraspol Social Insurance and Social Security Centre was discussed by the government on 19 July. Prime minister Alexander Martynov noted that citizens were complaining about queues and slow service at the centre. He had personally visited the centre after which he had made a number of recommendations to improve its performance. It was decided to organise a series of workshops for centre employees working with pensioners.
Fedotov also said that the ministry was currently considering the issue of transferring pension delivery functions in Bendery and Tiraspol to Sberbank. Only these two cities had retained the service of pension delivery agents, whereas in other regions this function had long been fulfilled by Sberbank.
«Sberbank emphasises the need to create conditions for the transition of all pensioners to a pension card system. This option is already available today. But of 122,000 pensioners, the majority — about 106,000 — prefer the home delivery service," said Fedotov.
To do this, in his view, it is necessary to ensure a number of conditions. In particular, to organise special training to teach pensioners to use pension cards and ATMs, to expand trading and pharmacy networks, including in rural areas, where pension cards can be used.
«The main thing is to ensure the convenience of pensioners," concluded Fedotov.
