Traditional commemoration meeting "True story, living pain" held in Tiraspol

Он собрал жителей столицы, матерей, вдов и детей защитников Приднестровья, чтобы еще раз вспомнить о тех, кто отдал жизни, защищая летом 1992 года свой народ от агрессии молдавских националистов

It brought together residents of the capital, mothers, widows and children of the defenders of Pridnestrovie once again to remember those who had sacrificed their lives protecting the people from aggression of the Moldovan nativists in summer of 1992

Tiraspol, July 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In Tiraspol Palace of Сulture there has passed the traditional commemoration meeting dedicated to the fallen Tiraspol residents during the months of war. The First Deputy Prime Minister Alevtina Slinchenko took part in the event.

The meeting «True story, living pain» has brought together residents of the capital, mothers, widows and children of the defenders of Pridnestrovie once again to remember those who had sacrificed their lives protecting the people from aggression of the Moldovan nativists in summer of 1992, the press service of the Government reports.

«In those far-off 90s I was a schoolboy, but I saw the fire glow in the sky over Bendery and partially over Tiraspol. I heard shots and, of course, saw tears of mothers who would never see their sons, wives who mourned over their husbands," the mayor of Tiraspol Oleg Dovgopol relived his memories.

He also noted that the memory of heroic deeds of the fallen defenders had lived all these years, and it was secure to the present day.

«In our state, nobody will ever forget those horrible days which all our republic had to go through. And when somebody says that the war hasn't reached Tiraspol as the other cities, it is not actually so. A lot of Tiraspol residents were in Bendery and Dubassary," Oleg Dovgopol told.

The names of all heroes have been recalled today. The audience has observed a moment of silence a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the fallen. It is a reminder that 809 Pridnestrovians, where 118 of them were Tiraspol residents, perished in the days of war.
