Tiraspol, 4 July. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Open Canoeing Championship of Moldova was held in Kishinev. The competition was held in three age groups: juniors under 17, juniors under 19 and adults. The programme included singles and doubles events in 200, 500, 1000 and 5000 metres.
With Tiraspol and Dubossary Rowing Academies winning 46 medals each, Tiraspol athletes gained more gold medals
In the senior group, the leader was Tiraspol's Vasily Voloshin who won two singles events and two doubles together with Egor Zavrichko from Dnestrovsk. Earlier this year the athletes were finalists of the European Youth Championship.
Tiraspol canoeists Vyacheslav Sergeyev and Yelena Ivanyuk won three gold medals each.
Among juniors, Tiraspol's Anastasiya Roshka andDubossary's Anastasiya Meleka, who were also partners in a doubles event, showed excellent results. A finalist of the 2017 European Championship, Arkadiy Goncharov won all single-person canoe events.
The Pridnestrovian athletes won especially many medals in the junior (U-17) group. Tiraspol's Andrey Laskorunsky, who was younger than many of his opponents, won 5 gold medals, including in double events together with Andrey Bobko.
Among other winners were the crews of Yekaterina Kutafina and Anastasiya Kalina, Tatiana Datsko and Laura Ursul, Yevgeny Zayats and Denis Kretsu.
