Tiraspol, 20 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On 21 June, the Kremlin Palace will be the host of an international conference, «The Russian World: present and future», dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Russian World foundation. A Pridnestrovian delegation, led by Alexander Scherba, will take part in the forum.
The delegation also includes the Supreme Council's vice speaker Galina Antyufeyeva, head of the Central Election Commission Yelena Gorodetskaya and rector of Pridnestrovian State University Stepan Beril, the parliament's press service reports.
Prominent Russian and foreign public and political figures, famous scientists and writers, heads of Russian centres abroad are expected to take part in the conference.
Today, the Russian World Foundation has over 4,500 partners in more than 100 countries of the world. The foundation's projects and programmes involve leading schools and universities, libraries and museums, research centres and Russian friendship societies, organisations of Russian compatriots and Russian-language schools abroad. The Russian World Foundation has opened its centres in 76 countries around the world.
In our country, the Russian Centre of Pridnestrovian State University was opened in September 2009. It actively works to popularise the Russian language and culture, holds conferences, seminars, roundtable meetings, presentations, meetings with Russian writers, public and cultural figures.
According to Scherba, Russian President Putin is expected to address the conference.
«We will also be given the floor. The topic of our presentation is the Russian World in the service of civil rights and freedoms by the example of Pridnestrovie," said the speaker.
