Tiraspol, 24 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's foreign minister Vitaly Ignatyev met an EUBAM delegation headed by Andrew Tesoriere. The meeting was also attended the economic development minister, Sergey Obolonik, and the chairman of the State Customs Committee, Vitaly Nyagu.
The parties discussed the issue of ongoing restrictive measures taken against Pridnestrovie, the MFA's press service reports. In particular, the Pridnestrovian side gave a detailed view of the negative consequences of the projected establishment of joint Moldo-Ukrainian border and customs control at the Kuchurgan checkpoint and stressed the inadmissibility of such a destructive project.
Particular attention was given to the prohibition of the transit of goods subject to veterinary control to Pridnestrovie without Moldova's approval.
«In fact, although joint control is yet to be established, unilateral measures are already being taken against Pridnestrovie today. Such actions are a litmus test showing the deadlocked nature of the steps aimed to establish joint control at the border," said Vitaly Ignatyev. The Pridnestrovian side called on the EUBAM delegation to submit their proposals for resolving the situation.
