Tiraspol, 16 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian government’s office hosted a meeting with the delegation of Russian businessmen from the Ural Federal District. Prospects for further cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
Welcoming the Russian guests, the prime minister noted that the government was currently actively engaged in the development of the country's economy and the improvement of the business climate. Alexander Martynov also recalled that active cooperation was being conducted in this direction with the Agency of Strategic Initiatives, whose members had visited the PMR at the end of March.
According to him, Pridnestrovie is working today on roadmaps to improve the business climate, in particular, to simplify export and business conditions in the country.
«Today we are extremely interested in attracting, first of all, Russian investment to Pridnestrovie," said Alexander Martynov.
He also assured the guests that the government would do everything necessary to strengthen ties and mutual cooperation with Russia.
The Ural businessmen said they had seen much in common between the cities in Pridnestrovie and their region and that such visits helped to establish interregional ties. The education sector had already seen the first results of such visits.
«We can work in two directions: both at the ministrerial level and at the level of special educational institutions because, we may say, the industry system here — Tiraspol and Bendery — and in our region is similar. This includes mechanical engineering, footwear and food processing enterprises. We have found 50% of contact points in certain industries," said the head of the Russian delegation, Andrey Vorobyov.
The meeting also dealt with the investment projects the Ural guests are ready to offer to our republic. The Ural guests noted they were expecting Pridnestrovian businessmen to pay a return visit.
«It is very important that they are waiting for us to come and, mostly important, the contact the Ural region has with other Russian regions can be shared with Pridnestrovie. It is also possible to organise joint visits. Our future plans for interaction has been seriously expanded today," said the CCI president, Yury Ganin.
Cooperation with Russian regions is not a novelty for Pridnestrovie. As CCI members note, the country has established the most active cooperation with Moscow, Novosibirsk, Bryansk and Kaluga regions. And now the Ural Federal District has been added to this list, the government's press service reports.
