Pridnestrovie expands list of education documents that do not require validation

Changes and amendments to the law on education have been approved by the president

Tiraspol, 11 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Changes and amendments relating to the validation of foreign education documents have been introduced to the law «On education». The corresponding decree has been signed by President Krasnoselsky.

According to the new law, now Pridnestrovie acknowledges without further validation the education documents, academic degrees and academic ranks subject to international treaties on mutual recognition and equivalence; issued by Soviet education institutions; of state approved form issued in Russia; as well as those issued by foreign educational organisations the list of which is to be approved by the Pridnestrovian government.

The government also approves the criteria and procedure for inclusion in the list.

Previously, only the education documents issued by the organisations of the USSR were recognised and were not subject to validation.

It should be noted that today education documents issued by foreign organisations must go through a validation procedure to confirm the equivalence of curricula. This is necessary to determine the status of the organisation, if its curricula have been certified and if its documents are recognised by its own country. The validation procedure is not free.

The law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its official publication.
