Vadim Krasnoselsky: 'Our successes in peaceful labour is the best gift and honourable tribute by the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Great Patriotic War veterans'

The Pridnestrovian president made an address to Pridnestrovians during the Victory Day parade

Tiraspol, 9 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The military parade dedicating to the 72nd anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War is held today in Tiraspol's main square. Thousands of Pridnestrovians have come to see a spectacular show and take part in the Immortal Regiment rally.

Welcoming the parade and all the Pridnestrovians, President Vadim Krasnoselsky stressed that not only the combat units of the republic would march today.

«Along with Pridnestrovians, we will see the best soldiers of the great Russia — servicemen of the Operative Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie, who have maintained peace in our land for 25 years. This is valuable and important for us. It happened so that after 47 years of peaceful life, since the liberation from the German and Romanian invaders, the war came to our land again. And only the Russian soldier was able to stop the aggression against the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic," noted the head of state.

The president also expressed confidence that «today's successes in peaceful labour is the best gift and honourable tribute from the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Great Patriotic War veterans — heirs to the Victory — to their heroic ancestors.»

«It is our duty to continue their cause. To strengthen our state. To work, to give birth to and raise children, to serve our motherland — only in this way will our country prosper and the glorious memory of World War II heroes will never wane. I sincerely congratulate you on the 72nd anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. Long live our Great Fatherland. Long live the victorious people," stressed Vadim Krasnoselsky.
