Military parade dedicated to Victory Day was held in Tiraspol

Tiraspol, May 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A festive military parade dedicated to the 72nd anniversary from the day of victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was held on the main square of the Pridnestrovie's capital.

The honorary right to run up the Victory Banner was given to the participants of the Great Patriotic War, then the president and the other country leaders greeted the veterans and congratulated them on the Victory Day.

The parade was opened with passing of the legendary T-34 tank across the main square of the capital with an exact duplicate of the banner over the conquered Reichstag.

Military personnel, border troops of the State Security Ministry, parade column of the Internal Affairs Ministry, units of the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie, and also cadets of the Defense Ministry Military Institute in the uniform of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War time and other enforcement agencies passed in front of the guests of honor — the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the homefront workers. Silent drill platoon made a festive performance.

The Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces — the President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted addressing to the audience that the May 9 was forever in the history of our freedom and freedom of the whole world. «It's not just a usual day for each of us, it is an opportunity to think about impossible efforts which had brought the Victory nearer, an opportunity to remember the living and the fallen, to thank veterans," the head of state emphasized.

The president believes that thanks to the Red Army soldiers the entire nations could survive, and their countries hadn't disappeared and remained on the world map.

The performance of the Pridnestrovie's Armed Forces General Staff Orchestra directed by the People's Artist of the Republic Vitaly Voynov finished the festive event.

The Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces personally thanked the participants of the parade.
