Tiraspol, 14 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Talking about the stoppage of the Moldavian GRES (MGRES) power plant is speculative, the economic development minister, Sergey Obolonik, said in an interview with a PGTRK reporter.
«The story about the tender for electricity supplies to Moldova, including by Ukraine, has many facets suggesting that the final line is yet to be drawn. Hence speculation about the possible stoppage of Moldavian GRES and lay-offs. This is no more than speculation," noted the minister.
Sergey Obolonik underscored that Moldavian GRES is integrated into the region's overall energy infrastructure and cannot be excluded without a negative impact on the entire system.
According to the minister, information about the dismissal of workers at the power plant is groundless as well.
«The modification of contractual obligations changes the mode of ongoing work. It is not about some long-term planning. This is the current situation. And economic agents are quite responsive to it. «There are a number of actions scheduled for this year which can be taken in the event of a reduction in the enterprise's capacity, such as holidays, major overhauls, routine maintenance," said the minister.
Sergey Obolonik stressed his confidence in the competency of the management of Russia's Inter RAO, part of which is MGRES, and their managerial capabilities to restructure the work of the power plant without lay-offs.
