Tiraspol, 28 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR's parliament has held a meeting on establishing ties with Russian regions at the level of municipalities. The beginning of this process was initiated by the February visit of a Pridnestrovian delegation, including Alexander Scherba, Galina Antyfeyeva, Viktor Guzun and Alexander Korshunov, to Moscow, the Supreme Council's press service reports.
The meeting referred to the need to draw up framework agreements on cooperation, their specific content, plans for the near future.
«We must cover the various areas of cooperation — economic, humanitarian, social, public utilities, tourism, youth exchanges — both with Russian regions and with individual cities," MP Viktor Guzun believes.
It was noted during the meeting there was a potential for interaction at the level of Pridnestrovie's municipalities and Moscow's administrative districts and towns and Moscow Oblast as a whole.
The parliament's speaker Alexander Scherba noted that the task had been set by the president to establish direct ties with Russian regions.
«During today's exchange of views, we found out the needs of the republic's two major cities, the areas of their possible cooperation with similar Russian municipalities. We expect this cooperation to be established during this year," he stressed.
