Tiraspol, February 8. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Graduates of the Pridnestrovian schools who enter a foreign university independently (not by the assignment) will also be able to count on the draft deferment. The relevant bill was passed in the first reading by the Supreme Council.
Within further work on the legislative text, the limited list of certain countries where higher education institutions entering will provide a right for draft deferment can be spelled out. According to the deputy Oleg Petrik who submitted such amendment, thus the risk of university admission documents falsification by the citizens trying to dodge the military service will be minimized.
«Otherwise, they will bring to the military commissariats verification letters in Arab," the deputy noted.
MP Sergey Cheban voiced a note of warning that adoption of this norm would cause mass exodus of young people deciding to enter the foreign higher education institutions instead of the Pridnestrovian ones.
However, according to the deputy Grigory Dyachenko, rather, adoption of the bill will let Pridnestrovians return home freely after graduation ftom the foreign higher education institutions. The deputy mentioned such instance when criminal proceedings for dodging the military service had been opened against the students who had left for studying abroad.
In order to solve this problem, perhaps, it will be spelled out in the text of the bill that it will have retroactive effect after adoption. The MPs will make a decision on this issue within the second reading.
At the same time, the only deputy Andrey Sipchenko who voted against this legislative initiative emphasized that during consideration of the bill in the second reading it would be necessary to invite the Defence Minister to the parliamentary session in order that he had explained how this norm would influence fullness of the Pridnestrovie's Armed Forces.
