Tiraspol, February 7. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Acting rector of the PSU Stjepan Beryl met with representatives of the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova – a Cultural Affairs Attache Gavin Piercy and a Student Exchange Programme officer Irina Colin.
As the PSU Media Center reports, possible creation of special classrooms for studying of English equipped with required literature and educational materials for students and teachers was discussed during the meeting in the State University.
Also, Gavin Piercy thanked the Pridnestrovian university for the provided platform for presentation of the book of Paul Shapiro "The Chisinau Ghetto, 1941-1942: Documentary History of Holocaust in the Borderlands of Romania". It will be held in the main building of the university on February 10. In this regard, Stjepan Beryl emphasized importance of the Holocaust discussion because this topic also concerns our land.
"The main objective of the book presentation and the conversation with students is to prevent such tragedies in the future," the acting rector noted.
