German investments may be attracted to Pridnestrovie's economy

Among the priority sectors are agriculture and processing industry

Tiraspol, 6 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The leadership of Pridnestrovie's Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CIC) met the deputy head of the German embassy to Moldova, Florian Seitz. The German diplomat, who assumed this post two months ago, made his first visit to our country.

As CCI president Yuri Ganin noted, Germany is an important partner for Pridnestovie, with the trade turnover amounting to $44.5 million this year (import of raw materials, equipment and component parts, textile, footwear and garments), which is 5% of the total turnover of Pridnestrovie and 17% of its turnover with non-CIS countries.

In addition to trade relations, the sides discussed the possibility of attracting German investments in the Pridnestrovian economy, with the highest priority assigned to agriculture and processing industry. The guest was told about successful examples of cooperation and business activities by foreign entrepreneurs in Pridnestrovie.

They also discussed the possibility of cooperation with German organisations, in particular with commerce chambers, in implementing joint skill-sharing projects in the sphere of training industrial workers and implementing a dual education system.

Florian Seitz expressed intention to continue the experience of such meetings and implement specific projects aimed at the development of economic relations between Pridnestrovie and Germany. He also outlined the possibility of German entrepreneurs coming to Pridnestrovie with business mission and the readiness to cooperate with the CIC in the area of implementing a dual education system, the CIC press service reports.
