Vitaly Ulitka takes part in Russian Competition Week

The event was held in Moscow Oblast from 26 to 28 September at the initiative of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation

Tiraspol, 3 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Russian Competition Week took place in Moscow Oblast from 26 to 28 September. The event was organized by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation. The head of the service, Igor Artemyev, had invited Pridnestrovie's chairman of the Price and Antimonopoly Committee Vitaly Ulitka to take part in the forum.

As specified on the forum's website, Competition Week was opened with a meeting of the headquarters for joint investigations of antimonopoly legislation violations in CIS state-members, as well as a meeting of the international working group focusing on such subjects as «Fair Roaming» and «Competition and Digital Economics».

Among other meetings that took place on those days were meetings of the BRICS coordinating committee for antimonopoly policy and the BRICS working group monitoring competition in food markets, as well as an enlarged meeting of Russia's FAS Board.

The head of the directorate of social sphere and trade control of Russia's FAS, Timofey Nizhegorodtsev, made a report concerning the results of the first stage of an international comparative analysis of pharmaceutical prices.

Prtidnestrovie's antimonopoly committee considers that this report and the practical experience of the Russian Federation in regulating the pharmaceutical market may be useful for Pridnestrovie in the context of seeking opportunities to cut prices for pharmaceuticals and improve budget spending on the provision of medicines.

On 2 July 2014 the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation and the Price and Antimonopoly Committee of the PMR signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of antimonopoly activities. One aspect of such cooperation is to improve the legal foundations of antimonopoly policy. In the framework of cooperation with Russia's Price and Antimonopoly Committee in this as well as in other spheres, a draft law on protection of competition in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic has been submitted to the Supreme Council. The bill is based on Russia's Federal law of 26 July 2006 «On protection of competition».
