Pridnestrovian kickboxer wins silver at WAKO World Championships

Nearly 2,000 athletes took part in the competition

Tiraspol, 5 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The WAKO Cadets & Juniors World Championships took place in the capital of Ireland, Dublin, from 27 August to 4 September 2016. Among its 1,978 participants from 52 countries were representatives of the Tiraspol Olympic School of Wrestling and Boxing — Masters of Sports Denis Telemshan and Nikita Levushkin.

In his first fight in the K1 71 kg category Denis Telemshan lost 2−1 to Ruzicka Tadeas from the Czech Republic, who later defeated Poland's Kacper Muszynski and Lithuania's Lukas Jablonskas to become the world champion.

Nikita Levushkin participated in the K1 57kg category. In his first fight Nikita beat a Russian kickboxer. In the semi-final he surpassed a Lithuanian athlete. But in the final Nikita lost to the Russian champion, winning a silver medal.
