Tiraspol, 1 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The first congress of the public movement Russian Outpost took place in Tiraspol today. Among its participants were both Pridnestrovian residents and guests representing foreign pro-Russian organisations from Estonia, Armenia and Gagauzia and Crimea, which joined Russia in 2014.
The movement leader, ex-interior minister Gennady Kuzmichyov, who was elected chairman of Russian Outpost, said that Russia needs certain protection today. «The protection of its citizens living far beyond the borders of their Motherland," specified Kuzmichyov.
He underscored that today Russia is in particularly difficult circumstances and the recognition of Pridnstrovie depends on whether it will gain victories or incur losses.
Crimean political expert, a Russian Spring participant, Anatoly Filatov said in his speech that Pridnestrovie, which has managed to build its own statehood, had long been an example and a guideline for Crimea.
«That's what we achieved in 2014 became possible owing in many respects to what you had done in previous years, which was very important, and Crimeans remember that," said Anatoly Filatov.
The expert stressed that every Pridnestrovian citizen is now facing a task of being ready to reunite with Russia. Anatoly Filatov specified at the same time that he does not mean the Russian Federation under Russia, but a common socio-cultural space, and the peoiple of Crimea and Pridnestrovie are in many respects even more Russians than the residents of mainland Russia.
