«There are over 180 citizens in the PMR who have the right to vote at Russian elections… The preparations are under way. Much efforts will be required in August and early September. Today we are ready to provide the necessary equipment for ballot stations. Heads of state administrations were informed about the necessary procedures at a meeting held by Chairman of the Government Pavel Prokudin two weeks ago. State administrations are to provide transport and communication. Our election commission must assist guarantor states in organising elections in Pridenstrovie. A package of election preparation measures has been agreed with the government and Russia's embassy in Kishinev," she said in the interview.
During Artyom Turov's visit to Pridnestrovie's CEC, he was shown a voting booth, stationary and mobile ballot boxes. According to the State Duma member, they fully comply with the Russian requirements.
«We are absolutely satisfied with the progress of preparations for the election. We hope that the citizens of Russia residing in Pridnestrovie will be able to come and cast their vote for this or that party or candidate," Artyom Turon told journalists. «Each citizen matters. It is essential to create conditions for people to come and express their position.»
Artyom Turov also noted that in preparing for the election Pridnestrovie is abiding by all the conditions within the framework of Russian legislation.
«Now Russia's CEC is working out certain recommendations for organising elections abroad, which is why we posed the questions we had to the chair of Pridnestrovie's central electoral commission. I am sure the elections will take place properly and in compliance with the norms of Russian legislation," he concluded.
