Bendery, 28 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today Slovak participants of the bike rally Slavic World 2016 were met near Bendery Fortress. Bikers planted a lime-tree near the citadel as a symbol of Slavic unity and visited the fortress's museum.
The international bike rally Slavic World 2016, organised by the Russian bike club Night Wolves, started on 23 June. It will run through Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria and Pridnestrovie. Besides Slovakia, Slavic World branches started from Moscow and Germany.
«Pridnestrovie was the first Slavic land on the way of our Slavic brothers. Night Wolves have launched this project aimed at uniting Slavic brothers, showing that we are united, that there are 270 million of us in different countries. And today the Slavic brothers have come to us. We are expressing gratitude to our Moscow brothers who has launched this project. We are glad they do not forget Pridnestrovie," the president of the Pridnestrovian branch of Night Wolves, Valentin Kirik, told journalists.
According to a Slovak biker, Erik Domcik, after Pridnestrovie their delegation will visit Ukraine, Belarus, Poland and the Czech Republic, where they are going to visit memorable places and culture centres and plant young lime-trees.
The rally finishes in Nitra, Slovakia, on 5 July, as it is in this city one of the first Slavic alphabets — Glagolitic alphabet — was invented. The general length of the rally is 12,000 km.
In Pridnestrovie Slovak guests will also meet Black Sea Cossacks and plant a lime-tree in Kirov Park.
