Supreme Council proposes to regulate legal relations in migratory sphere

Tiraspol, 8 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, Pridnestrovian lawmakers have considered a package of laws regulating the legal relations in the migratory sphere. The draft laws stipulate the procedure for entry into and exit from the PMR of foreign nationals and stateless persons, as well as legal relations arisen between these persons and the public authorities.

«The laws have been drafted to legally regulate the processes of migration in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, to determine at the legislative level the legal status of foreign nationals and stateless persons visiting or residing in the PMR, as well as to secure Pridnestrovian citizens' constitution right to freedom of movement and residence in Pridnestrovie," said one of the bill's author, vice speaker Galina Antyufeyeva.

According to her, the document is based on Russia's experience.

Proposed innovations gave rise to many questions, which is decided to finalise in the second reading. A working group will be formed to that end with the involvement of representatives of the president, government, prosecutor general's office, Supreme Council, expert society and ombudsman.
