Tiraspol, 26 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The presidential election is scheduled for 11 December 2016. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has already started preparing for the electoral campaign, which will be officially launched in October. Today, a regular meeting of the commission took place at which, in particular, the reference forms of the documents necessary for nominating presidential candidates — self-nomination application, nomination consent, etc. — were approved. There are 10 documents altogether. As compared to the previous presidential campaigns, the reference forms of these documents will not change.

The tender commission will also remain the same. It is planned that the first tenders for the supply of printed materials, the mounting and dismantling of technical equipment at polling stations, the procurement of office accessories will be held in July. «In compliance with new amendments to the republican budget law suggesting that all procurements exceeding the amount of 100,000 roubles should be subject to tender, the tender commission was formed," the CEC chairwoman, Yelena Gorodetskaya, said in an interview with journalists.

She underscored, at the same time, that CEC members together with representatives of municipal and district state administrations are currently making up an inventory of ballot boxes and polling booths.

During the interview, the CEC chair also touched upon the agenda of the next commission meeting. «Since the Supreme Council has adopted on second reading and will soon pass in the ultimate reading a number of amendments to the Election Code, we are going to approve regulations for acceptance of candidates' documents. In order to make the procedure of accepting documents as transparent as possible, we are going to demand that this process be videoed," Yelena Gorodetskaya shared the commission's short-run plans.

The CEC also intends to clarify the amendments to the Election Code which allow the placement of electoral ads no closer than 50 metres from polling stations.
