Tiraspol, 20 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, the president made his annual state-of-the-nation address in Tiraspol’s Palace of Republic.
«The task was set to improve the exterior of our biggest cities: Tiraspol, Bendery, Rybnitsa. The improvement of the republic's capital and cities is an investment in the image of our country, a contribution to the present," underscored Yevgeny Shevchuk.
The head of state also noted that two large leisure centres Yubileiny and Mir were opened in Tiraspol, which had long remained unfinished. Besides, the illumination of most of Pridnestrovian cities has been enhanced by installing the latest equipment.
«Contributions to the development of electric infrastructure have increased manifold in comparison with the past five years. The number of repaired roads has increased. New municipal trolleybuses run on the route Tirapol-Bendery. There are new buses in Bendery. Investments in the water supply and disposal sector have risen and amounted to 42 million roubles," underscored the president.
According to the head of state, heat-and-power engineering programmes were launched only in 2011, but at the same time, the amount of funds allocated for the major repairs and reconstruction of heat-and-power systems in 2015 increased by six times in comparison with 2011.
«All these achievements have become possible thanks to the people's joint efforts and the support of those who were working in concrete areas, doing concrete deeds. Taking the opportunity, I want to thank all those who took part in the implementation of these projects. This is an evidently positive result, which is our joint success," noted Yevgeny Shevchuk.
He also added that «today ideological templates are being artificially imposed on our society, aiming to smear and simply 'trample down' many positive things and praise deliberately and consequently negative ones.»
