Tiraspol, 4 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Rehearsals of the Victory Day parade have started in the country. Units of the Defence Ministry, Interior Ministry, KGB and the OGRF began training individually in April, and today they have had the first general rehearsal on the central square.

«We are drilling marching along the square with regard to the place and the number of parade squads and hardware columns. There are two more rehearsals to come — on 5 and 7 May," said Igor Dovgulich, a representative of the parade organisation committee.

This year the Victory Day parade will feature nine infantry squads and two hardware columns. Among those who will march to the sound of a military air are OGRF representatives. After the parade they will go to the place of their stationing where a small performance will be given to the public.

«We are preparing a surprise for Tiraspol residents — we are going to perform war time songs and march to the post of our permanent stationing in Karl Libkneht St. There we'll show a re-enactment of a WWII fight with the participation of Pridnestrovian military and patriotic clubs and also display rare and contemporary military hardware," said the chief of the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie, Dmitry Zelenkov.

Alongside Russian servicemen, Immortal Regiment, which, according to organisers, is to be larger than last year, will march along Tirapol streets.

«All residents who want to join the action are requested to gather at 8:40 — 9:30 in Shevchenko St between the fountain and the Tiraspol-Dubossary Dioceses. Immortal Regiment will participate in the flower-laying ceremony at the Glory Memorial and then proceed to the OGRF's territory," said Natalya Nikiforova, a deputy head of the Tiraspol State Administration.
