Pridnestrovie's MFA receives UNICEF representatives

Pressing issues regarding social protection of children deprived of parental care have been discussed

Tiraspol, 4 April /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the course of a meeting between a deputy foreign minister of the PMR, Dmitry Palamarchuk, and a UNICEF deputy representative to Moldova, Margarita Tileva, some pressing issues regarding social protection of children deprived of parental care were discussed. The meeting was also attended by the first deputy minister of social protection and labour, Oleg Fedotov, the press service of Pridnestrovie's MFA reports.

Working consultations have been organised in the follow-up of the issues discussed on 25 February 2016 by Vitaly Ignatyev and the UNICEF representative to Moldova, Nune Mangasaryan.

The sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening measures to support and maintain a due level of social protection for this category of citizens, as well as to prevent the separation of children from their biological parents. Special attention was given to the elaboration of relevant initiatives aimed at securing children's rights, strengthening the potential of Pridnestrovie's guardianship authorities and developing social infrastructure.

The Pridnestrovian side expressed gratitude for serious assistance provided by UN agencies in various socio-humanitarian spheres.

The interlocutors confirmed readiness to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
