Russian Foreign Ministry concerned by Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement negotiations slowdown

It is said in the comment by the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry following the visit to Russia of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the European Integration of the RM Andrey Galbur

At the invitation of the Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the European Integration of Moldova Andrey Galbur will make a working visit to Moscow on April 4.

«During the negotiations, the heads of the Foreign Ministries will consider the chances to give a new momentum to the diverse Russian-Moldavan cooperation after overcoming of political crisis in Moldova and formation of a new government of the country in January, 2016," it is said in the comment of the Russian MFA Department of information and the press.

It is expected that Lavrov and Galbur will discuss future development of bilateral relations, their place in the framework of foreign policies of two countries in the European and regional directions. Also, it is planned to discuss the current situation in Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement.

«The recent slowdown of negotiation process, stagnation of confidence-building measures between Chisinau and Tiraspol can't but cause concern. We need subtle and responsible analysis of the situation. The visit will provide clarification of the Moldovan leadership's point of view on the process of confidence restoration between the parties, on observance of the equality principle in the settlement dialogue," the Russian Foreign Ministry notes.

Besides, the Russian side intends to discuss inadmissibility of a ban on entrance of Russians, in particular, of journalists, political scientists and military to Moldova.

«The Russian side intends to declare inadmissibility of prohibitive and restrictive measures against entry of the Russian citizens into the country applied by the Moldavan authorities recently. During this period, tens of cases of entry denial to Moldova to the Russian journalists, the political scientists, the representatives of the Russian state authorities and the military personnel serving in the JPF in Pridnestrovie on the ground of so-called «safety provision» have been registered. We qualify the actions of Chisinau as open unfriendly and delictual acts against the Russian journalists' freedom of professional activity," it is said in the statement.
