Tiraspol, 29 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Ministry of Social Protection and Labour proposed at a government meeting today to increase the minimum pension rate and estimated level of the minimum salary rate (ELMSR) for calculating allowances in one stage instead of two rages. It was initially supposed to conduct a two-stage increase of ELMSRs – in January and July. However, these plans have been adjusted because in January-February the fund received by 23 million roubles less than in the same period in 2015. As a result, it has been decided to reject the second stage and keep the basic parameters at January's level.
"Thus, in order to appropriate social insurance allowances, maternity allowances, benefits and compensations paid at the expanse of the targeted funds of the republican budget, the amount of the ELMSR will be fixed at 9.7 roubles in 2016. And 8.4 roubles for unemployment benefits," explained the minister of social protection and labour, Yelena Kulichenko.
The minimum retirement pension rate will be kept at 616 roubles, and 402 roubles for the calculation of pension benefits and rises for all categories of pensioners.
According to the minister, funds released as a result of a one-stage rise of these parameters will be allocated for pension provision, taking account of a possible increase in the number of pensioners.
"This is a coercive measure, but it is essential for our budget on the whole," commented Pavel Prokudin.
The government has voted for these amendments and now they will be discussed by the Supreme Council during the second reading of the budget of the Unitary Social Security State Fund.
